Love Thy Neighbor

The first time I visited this country as a teenager I was so impressed by the genuine care for others that was so freely expressed in action wherever I went. Shortly thereafter I moved here, motivated in part by that experience. Some 40 years later that quality is still present in America, but no longer universally so. COVID-19 should have brought all of us together to protect each other, support one another and do everything in our power to get through it as quickly as possible. As an eternal optimist, I am hopeful that this experience will leave a long-lasting impression that we can beat anything, but only if we all stand shoulder to shoulder, together as one, with no agenda other than to love thy neighbor.
